Our priority at Ark is you our customer, your safety as well as our own is important to us, together we can make our salon a safe and welcoming environment to work in and have your hair experience.
Prior to opening, we have deep cleaned the salon and de-cluttered making the area a very low-risk group, and continuing to do so as we move forward. All our staff have completed the Barbicide covid-19 training certification.
Hand washing and sanitising is imperative there will be soap and water and washing facilities available as well as hand sanitisers also available on every station, you will be asked to do this on entering and leaving the salon. As you will see on our safety guides staff and customers will be expected to wear face masks, our stylists will wear a visor and if you wish, a mask. Our stations and tools, aprons will be disinfected after every client as well as our gowns, gloves and towels being single-use and being washed at 60 degrees after each usage. We already have cleaning routines and measures in place prior to covid but have significantly increased these measures so this will take extra time to ensure we are doing it thoroughly; all these measures will be in line with government guidelines. We will be asking you to wait outside until you are asked to enter the salon to reduce coming into contact with other clients, so please do not arrive to early, we may call you beforehand to advise you when your stylist will be ready.
At the end of the day, all of the single-use items will be bagged and disposed of accordingly and we will be trying to reduce the number of disposable items where possible for environmental impact.
All of the staff will be in FULL PPE for yours and their own safety.
Our aim will be to carry out your service as quickly and as safely as possible within the time frame we have booked.
We ask you to please bring a bag with you to put your coat, purse and any other personal belongings as we do not have the space to store these items without being cross-contaminated. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide you with refreshments because of cross-contamination. However, you are welcome to bring in takeaway products but we ask you to dispose of them yourself or bring in a flask and we can fill and refill with our own beverages(tea, coffee) magazines will also be out of use at the moment but if you wish you can use your own phone to show us any images.
For a period of time, we will be very busy and bookings may be difficult, rest assured we will be doing all we can to get you an appointment for a time that suits you.
If necessary, we will do consultations over the phone and this could be facetime if you wish.
If any of our staff are presenting with any symptoms of covid-19 this may result in cancellation of your appointment, whilst inconvenient we have done this for your own safety. The staff member will have to isolate for 2 weeks. Similarly, if you or any one in your household are presenting with any symptoms, we ask you NOT to come to the salon and rearrange your appointment we will endeavour to fit you back in after 2 weeks of isolation.
Your hair MUST be washed at the salon before we carry out our service, we ask you before a colour service to wash your hair and dry at home before coming to the salon to save time, if we feel it hasn’t been washed you will be asked to have it washed again but this could impact on the time we have left to carry out the service.
No dry cuts temporarily
No fringe trims temporarily (we will work around this in cut and blow appointment times)
No children temporarily
No blow dry option**
We will be working on a stylist to client basis for a period of time and this will obviously have an impact on our price structure which will also include for extra time for sanitisation, PPE etc, all this is temporary and will be revised regularly.
As these are such unprecedented times these guides will and could change faster than we can update them on our website please lookout on our social media pages for more up to date information. All of these procedures have been implemented for our own safety.
We are continuously taking advice from the government and the National Hairdressers Federation which we are members of.
Thank you for your patience and understanding we look forward to being of service to you all very soon.
